Yesterday, the Cotopaxi has issued only vapor and gases containing little ash, at an average altitude of 500 meters above the crater. The IGEPN relates, between 6 am and 17 pm local, 17 VT earthquakes, 3 earthquakes LP and 6 episodes of emission tremor . Sulphur dioxide emissions are measured to 1.117 tons / day.
Photos taken by our friend José Luis Espinosa-Naranjo yesterday around 18h from the Paramo de Ticatilin (south side) confirm these emissions; it also reports numerous lightning on the east side.
