In August 2015, Indonesian President Joko Widodo, visiting the disaster site, said ordering public works and ordered the Governor of East Java and Sidoarjo district head to make immediate payments ... the compensation funds for victims of the Lapindo mudflow being fed to the tune of almost 55 millions $.
We must remember that the Sidoarjo disaster took place in June 2006, during the explosion of a gas well drilling by the company Lapindo which caused a massive eruption of mud, burying hundreds of homes, flooding 720 hectares , forcing thousands of people to move (permanently) and sterilizing the Porong River.
The Indonesian government has ordered Lapindo Jaya to pay the entire amount advanced by the state over the next four years, and decided the abandonment by Lapindo of the land certificate of the damaged areas as security.
The president specified that the funds must be used to purchase a new home, and not for frivolous expense.

In January of this year, we learned that the Vice President Kalla gave its support to Lapindo to drill two new wells in the same area. According to him: "They have to drill new wells to repay their debt to the government, otherwise, how can they pay ? "
The Vice -President recognizes that the victims of the disaster of 2006 and the residents surrounding the site are stressed by the fact that other drilling activities could lead to further mudslides, but says that the wells are approved and considered safe by SKK Migas, oil and gas regulator.
The birth of this mud volcano, called "lumpur Sidoarjo" (mud Sidoarjo), abbreviated Lusi, remains subject to debate, ranging from two hypothesis: the issue was caused by an earthquake that occurred two days sooner or following the Lapindo drilling, having misjudged the precautions in this field in the presence of Watukosek fault system.

Will it this time cure evil with evil or trigger a new disaster, in a country where poverty and corruption coexist.
