The third eruption of the year began to Fuego / Guatemala on February 9 from 19:30, with moderate to heavy explosions causing ash plumes. They are maintained six hours after the start.

In its special report of 10 February / 00:00, INSIVUMEH reported incandescent projections / lava fountains 500 meters above the crater and a plume amount to 4,800 a.s.l. before moving towards NO on 25 km.

Ash falls are recorded in Chimaltenango and Zaragoza, accompanied by a smell of sulfur. Lava flows reach 800 to 2,000 meters and cover the ravines Trinidad, Las Lajas and Santa Teresa, with the risk of pyroclastic flows.

In Chile, activity continues at Copahue, with on the day of February 9, larger ash plumes, and a  nocturnal glow early in the night.

At Sakurajima / Japan, explosions continue, with plumes of between 700 and 2,500 meters above the crater. It seems that the "normal" activity has resumed.
