In Nicaragua, after an increase in tremor at Momotombo on February 11 to local 2:20, almost doubling the amount of sulfur dioxide emitted (over 1,000 tons / day), a gas and ash explosion,  moderate, took place on 12 February in 2:03 local, followed by another at 11:15. Ash and incandescent material was deposited on the north-east and south sides.

More explosions were expected by Ineter ... on February 13 at 10:41, an explosion was accompanied by a pyroclastic flow that traveled the northeast flank of the volcano, and a plume inclined to the opposite side.

Nocturnal activity of Zhupanovsky - 02/10/2016 - Doc. Yashchuk VV

In Kamchatka, neighboring volcanoes Karymsky  and Zhupanovsky are animated in recent days, and emit ash plumes detected by satellites, VAAC Tokyo and observers.

In Zhupanovsky, a beautiful sequence shows a plume of ash and gas on February 10, amounting to 8,000 meters asl. The explosive activity continued on 13 in the morning, with a plume amount to more than 10,000 meters and dissipating about 300 km to the east.

The aviation alert code is orange and many previsonal opinions about the movement of the ash cloud are issued by the VAAC Tokyo.

Semeru, on Java island, has experienced this February 13th an emission of ash to 6h.05 local following a collapse of the dome. The ash covered a good half of the volcano, sector South and Southeast. The affected villages at the foot of Semeru, especially Sub Candipuro and Pasrujambe and ditrict of Klakah, received masks.

Despite this increase in activity, the alert level remained at II / warning; the population remains calm but should increase its level of vigilance, following  the direction of the agency of prevention and regional risk management.

The Bandung PVMBG reports that a pyroclastic flow ( "avalanche of hot clouds") traveled over 4-5 kilometers from the summit on the south and southeast sector. A partial collapse of the dome, in growth since October 2015 and becoming unstable, is the cause.
