New explosions at Momotombo:
A small explosion at 3:40 a.m. local February 17, 2016 was accompanied by emission of ash and incandescent material. The plume is raised 800 meters above the summit crater.
The Ineter attributes the lack of seismic signature eruptions in less resistance to the magma ascent in the open channel.
The explosion of local 8:50 p.m. on the same day was more intense, with ejection of incandescent material on the sidewall. Incandescent fallout marked the southern flank toward a geothermal implantation.

In Masaya, the lava lake is always present and animated with a strong " circulation of magma," characterized by high values of RSA, between 400 and 1,100 units.
Around 2:20 p.m. local, February 17, an explosion occurred. Few details on this one, because of the restricted view of the lava lake ... it could have been caused by a rock collapse in the lake.

Bromo seems to have on February 18 a quieter activity.
Despite the alert status of the volcano, the Tengger community will perform the monthly offerings of Friday ritual , a bit irrational in these circumstances because of ash emissions.
A local figure said: " We’re convinced that we become one with Mt. Bromo’s natural environment in the ritual, under the protection of our ancestors and guardian spirits, so that the boom and smoke will halt for a moment to allow us to proceed "
The tenggers really expect the increase of regular activity of Bromo, and do not worry ... they want to approach the volcano's crater, bringing fertility to the land. These offerings of Friday come in various forms, after which Tenggers go down to Watu dukun, the ritual area in the sandy plain of the caldera, to dinner with family.

Japanese media learn about the morphological changes of the Showa crater of Sakurajima since 2014 : An expansion of 9 meters from east to west, and 14 meters from north to south is found ; the wall between the Showa and Minamidake craters collapsed two meters.
Ejecta in and around the crater increased significantly to about 137 million cubic meters ... and are feared debris flows during heavy rains.
Following the explosive eruption of 2016 February 5 , JAXA & JMA conducted a series of observations using the ALOS-2 satellite (Advanced Land Observation Satellite "Daichi") equipped with radar interferometers. No significant crustal movement was observed.
