The sixth eruption of 2016 ended at Fuego / Guatemala; it was Strombolian type with effusion of lava and explosions accompanied by shock waves, ash plumes up to 5,500 meters asl, in the paroxysmal stage, then running hard 30 km towards W-SW and ashfalls .
Only white fumaroles escaping now from the volcano, accompanied by small explosions. In the barranca Las Lajas, on the southeast flank lava flow is maintained at a length of 1,000 meters.

In Mexico, Colima presented yesterday beautiful explosions accompanied by ash plumes rising to 1,500 meters above the crater , before dispersing toward the northwest.
This morning, Etna issued ashes at the northeast crater. No major changes in the tremor.
Two major earthquakes struck yesterday Japan and Vanuatu.
In Japan, a magnitude 6.4 earthquake, after reassessment, hit the April 14, 2016 at 9:26 p.m. Kumamoto region in Kyushu. The initial quake was followed by numerous aftershocks (> 130), one of magnitude 6 to 10:07 p.m..
The hypocenter of the first earthquake is located about 15 km, the replica of M6 to 2 km deep.
Nuclear plants of Kyushu are reviewed by the Kyushu Electric Power company. Following a derailment, the railway Shinkansen was closed. Flights were suspended at the local airport.
There are, at present, at least 9 killed more than 1,100 injured. About 16,000 people are in evacuation sites in the southwestern prefecture Kumamoto.Amoung the property damage figure the Kumamoto Castle.
The tectonic setting is the contact between the Philippine plate and the Eurasian plate, especially in the fault zone Futagawa-Hinagu

In Vanuatu, an earthquake of magnitude 6.5 and a depth of 10 km, occurred April 14, 2016 at 9:50 p.m. UTC north of the archipelago, 95 km northwest of Port Olry. This earthquake marks the eastern edge of the Australian tectonic plate.
