All the week, the Kluychevskoy showed a strong thermal anomaly identified by the satellites.

On 23 April, loud explosions around 1:40 p.m. UTC generated an ash plume rising between 8,000 and 9,000 meters asl. before drifting to the southwest.

On April 24, the plume peaked to 6,000 meters, while the ash cloud end is estimated to be 453 km southwest of the volcano.

On the webcam, there are, in addition to the summit Strombolian activity,  a lava flow.

The level of aviation alert is orange.
