The level of activity of the Santiaguito / Guatemala remains high.
On April 19, from 8 am local, a loud explosion was recorded, accompanied by pyroclastic flows towards the SE and O of Caliente dome. This activity was caused by the collapse of banks east and west of the crater and head of the ash plume that rose to 4,500 meters asl, then moved 25 km towards the Pacific. Ash fallout are mentionned on the surrounding fincas.

In Chile, the complex Nevados de Chillán presented on April 19 to 08:00 local new ash emissions, rising to 500 meters. This surface activity is accompanied by a slight increase in the tremor signal, associated with the fluid movements in the internal ducts.
The alert level remains at Amarilla.
On the island of Montserrat, heavy rains have eroded and re-mobilized the eruptive ash deposits in the Belham Valley, creating lahars there and making of this a dangerous area.
The activity of the volcano Soufriere Hills, remains unchanged, characterized by a plume of gas blown northwards towards uninhabited areas. The alert level remains at 1.
