In Mexico, Colima continues its typical activity; this 9avril, a double plume of ash is mounted vertically to a height of 1,500 meters above the crater prior to dilute to NNE.

In Guatemala, Fuego continues its activity, described as strong, with 5-6 explosions, loud and accompanied by shock waves, per hour, and the expulsion of large amounts of ash rising to 4800 meters asl. before moving to a OSO sector. Ash falls were reported on Sangre de Christo, Panimache I & II, and San Pedro Yepocapa etc.

The Alaid volcano, in the Kuril archipelago, in moderate explosive activity, was surmounted this April 9 by a plume of gas and steam amount between 2,000 and 3,000 m asl (Terra MODIS data) and extending over 60 kilometers south-east of the volcano. This activity can disrupt international and regional air traffic at low altitude. The level of aviation alert is orange.
