The Nevado del Ruiz has experienced this June 27 at 8:22 local a new episode of volcanic tremor of high energy level. This signal is associated with the emission of ashes, and visible on the various webcams and by officials of the National Natural Park Los Nevados. The plume height is about 1,800 meters.
Ash falls are expected in the northwest and west of Arenas crater, according to the wind direction.
The volcano remains in an unstable state, and the level of alert remain unchanged.

In El Salvador, the Chaparrastique / San Miguel is the seat of an important degassing, suggesting the existence of a deep hot mass in motion and releases of magmatic gas, exacerbated by an high humidity.
Seismicity shows a gradual downward trend and decompression of the system.
Access to the top is not recommended because of the danger constituted by the gases and the possibility of an explosion. The alert level remains Orange.
At Etna, the new Southeast Crater / NSEC shows a plume of steam, appearing more important because of an increased atmospheric humidity, illustrated by the photo of Gio Giusa.
Boris Behncke confirms that this plume is not linked to an increase in volcanic activity.
