Popocatépetl recorded in the last 24 hours 181 exhalations of low intensity, characterized by gases and water vapor, sometimes with small amounts of ash.

During the night, a strong glow is observed in the crater.

Seismic network recorded 520 minutes of tremor and two volcano-tectonic earthquakes, respectively at 3:54 and 4:55, of magnitude 2.1 and 1.9.

Between 5:44 and 8:22, a series of exhalations and small explosions were accompanied by ash plumes rising up to 1,000 meters above the crater.

The volcano alert level was not changed.

In Costa Rica, the Poas is marked by a growing instability since late May: the color of the lake went from green to a dirty gray, with liquid sulfur up to the surface of the acid lake.

This instability culminated on June 5 in the morning in a hydrothermal explosion and issuing a  cypressoïde plume amount to 20-30 meters.
