The Phivolcs / Sorsogon did take samples of ash after the eruption of Bulusan of 10 June 2016, to determine if there are changes in chemical composition between these newly issued ashes and those of previous eruptions. E.Laguerta, a volcanologist, said that there is no cause for alarm if it corresponds to a phreatic activity, normal for this volcano.

Waiting the results of analyzes by the Central Office of Phivolcs, Bulusan other parameters remain monitored: inflation / deflation, SO2, seismicity.

Although the phreatic eruptions of Bulusan emit a minimal volume of ash and not concentrated, small lahars are expected around the volcano, and protocols for the areas to be evacuated, including 12 villages, are activated by the Provincial Disaster Risk reduction and Management Office

The Sinabung dome is growing steadily - see the differences in 3 days in photos - and its considerable and unstable mass raises fears of new collapses and pyroclastic flows.
