The Gamalama was the seat of explosions Wednesday, August 3rd from 6:28 local. They were accompanied by plumes of ash amount to 500-600 meters.
The BPBD binds these explosions to a 4.6 magnitude earthquake on August 3 at 6:14, with an epicenter 86 km west of Halmahera and a depth of 18 km., followed by replicas up M1,5 . This earthquake had compressed the magma chamber of Gamalama, causing loud explosions at 7:09, 7:12, and 7:13. ash emissions ceased at 6:55 p.m. local.
The airport of Ternate, in the Moluccas of the north, covered by ash from the volcano, is temporarily closed until 10 am Thursday.

After the explosion of August 1, the Nevados de Chillan have still had ash emissions August 2, less important. The alert level remains unchanged.
