Santiaguito has experienced yesterday, August 20 at 5:58 local time, a new explosive eruption; she was accompanied by a rising ash plume up to 4,500 meters asl (according INSIVUMEH - 6,000 meters depending on Conred) moving westward over 40 km., and by limited pyroclastic flows
Ash falls were reported on farms and villages of San Marcos and Loma Linda Palajunoj. The Mexican SEGOB reports low ash fallout on southern Chiapas.
