In Turrialba, volcanic activity has become more continuous, with tremor pulses more durable and successive, between 4:0 p.m / 03.09 and 3:0 / 04.09.

Then a sustained tremor of moderate amplitude became continuous and accompanied by a plume of gas and vapor rising 1,000 meters above the active crater

Six vents discovered underwater in the Bay of Naples :

The discovery was made by experts of the INGV, the Federico II University of Naples and the National Research Council.

With an average diameter of 800 meters, the six vents are located 3 km away of the coast in the Gulf of Naples, and a depth of 5-20 meters. Formed over a period of 190,000 years, they are part of the volcanic complex structure of Vesuvius.

No danger, even if erupting, only the navigation in the Gulf would be disrupted.

On the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, the project MULTITEIDE (Caracterización Multiparamétrica of Actividad del complejo volcánico Teide-Pico Viejo) is to improve the volcanic surveillance in the island, using different technical seismological, geodetic, geomagnetic, geochemical and gravimetric, analyzing the current and past Teide, that will define a basal level.

To do this, teams will install a multi parametric network continuously running 4 magnetometers, two weather stations, a gravity meter, 8 GPS stations, a inclinometers, 6 seismic stations, 4 temperature of fumaroles control stations. This will be supplemented by campaigns of soil temperature and  flow of diffuse CO2 measurements.

The disclosure of the progress of the project will be done through social networks Twitter and Facebook in addition to the website MultiTeide.

The first campaign begins this week ... coincidence after the seismic activity that marked the Teide on 2 October 2016.

The Avcan precise about this, that these earthquakes can be classified as seismo-volcanic events of large period. The number of earthquakes has been underestimated: it can exceed 400 épisodes. The distribution of the  hypocentres and the depth of earthquakes should be reviewed.
