Self-taught artist working the mosaic for some years, Carole Hardy is moreover a passionate volcanolover.
Her many trips have led her to different volcanoes, and mixing several passions, she has realized some "volcanic" mosaics, of which we have spoken in this section
.

Art on the way of fire: Surf to La Reunion by Carole Hardy.

The inspiration of his latest creation comes from a hike on the island of La Reunion.

Magical in different ways, the "intense island", as its fans call it, combines an exuberant tropical nature, grandiose landscapes sculpted by the volcanism that formed it, and the pleasure to meet there on earth, in the air and under the waves a shimmering biodiversity.

This former surfer has dressed with mosaic a board that takes up these impressions.
In a gradient of blue, one travels from the active volcano, the Piton de La Fournaise, to the ocean that borders the island. In passing, a Paille en queue flying over among the flowers of hibiscus, a margouillat that hugs the golden island.Nature flowered in abundance allows two waterfalls to flow to join a sea where are swimming tropical colored fishes.

Everything is said ... an invitation to surf in La Réunion, which will make the happiness of its recipient at the time of the holidays.

Carole does not only make boards, his work is declined in the dressing of various usual and / or decorative objects: tables, small furniture, guitars, pots, planters, nest boxes. She recently decorated an old bench in her neighborhood in Tarnos, giving it a second youth.

Congratulations to Carole!

Editor's note:

Phaeton or Paille-en-queue is a pelagic bird with white plumage with an ocular task and black transverse stripes on the back. Its tail is extended by two median feathers that can measure up to 50 cm.
The margouillat or mabouya is the Creole name given to the geckos that are found on Reunion Island.
