Kerinci activity has forced hundreds of people to change their plans to spend the holiday season on the highest volcano in the region. Following the establishment of a 3 km radius around the crater, the local trekking agencies canceled their excursions until the new year. On Thursday 1 December, the Kerinci issued ashes, which covered houses and plantations.

Some volcanologists of the Phivolcs, including Paul Alanis, estimate that the risks of a possible phreatic eruption in Bulusan are increasing due to changes in sulfur dioxide emission levels, inflation of the volcano, and increase in the number of volcanic earthquakes. They recalled that the permanent danger zone is 4 km, with a so-called extended danger zone of 2 km, due to the unpredictability of groundwater eruptions.

More than a hundred years after its eruption, the Katmai is still talking about him.

Strong northwest winds near the Katmai and the Ten Thousand Smoke Valley remobilized the ashes of the 1912 Katmai-Novarupta eruption. The ash cloud extends over Shelikof Strait in the direction of Kodiak Island; These suspended ash can cause damage to health and aircraft.
