After an increase in seismicity on January 15 at 6:26 UTC, the AVO detected an explosive eruption at Bogoslof on 15.01 at 7:16 UTC, accompanied by an increase in seismicity from 7:16 to 7:40 UTC, a lighning at 7:32 am, infrasound recorded at Okmok volcano on Unamak Island.
Following 20 minutes of calm before two seismic explosions at 8:02 and 8:18 UTC, during 9 and 2 minutes respectively; These signals were not accompanied by lighning or infrasound.
The alert codes remain unchanged.

A survey of the Colima was carried out on 14 January in the evening by the University of Colima. The images show a dome embedded in the top crater.
Two explosions are reported among others, one at 16:05, the other at 18:02, accompanied by plumes of 2,500 m and 1,800 m high respectively.
The exclusion zone remains fixed at 7.5-8 km around the summit.
