The Montserrat Volcano Observatory / MVO reports a low activity for Soufrière Hills.
The seismic network recorded however two volcano-tectonic earthquakes this week.
Two small "puffs" are reported by an observer on Basse-Terre (via Karine Rigal); but, SO2 measurements have not been possible since 7 November 2016 to confirm activity.
The alert level is 1. no public access is permitted to Area V, including Plymouth, nor to Sea Zones E and W overnight.

The Mirova website indicates a significant radiative power on January 18, with a slight persistence on the 19th at the Erta Ale. The signal is "extreme" this 21 and 22 of January ... presumably corresponding to one or more pushes of overflow of the lava lake.
Since November 2016, the activity of Erta Ale is on the rise ... more news in the days following, thanks to our friend Georges Vitton on the spot.
