The Kasada 2017 at the Gunung Bromo.

The Bromo will be celebrating the 9th and 10th of July. On the 14th day of the month of Kasada, in the Hindu lunar calendar, there is a ritual practiced by the Tengger people, the Yadnya Kasada.
 
The village of Jetak will host various festivities this weekend, including a torchlight parade for two nights, a concert, Gunungsari masks dance, and much more. Artists from East Java and Bali are expected.

It is during this festival that the Tenggers practice offerings of vegetables, fruits and cattle to the Hindu gods, by hurling them into the crater of Bromo volcano. Everything is not lost in this culturo-religious charivari, because the offerings are recovered from the crater by Indonesians belonging to other religions.

A significant number of security personnel is planned: 215 people will be deployed in 13 posts.
The leader of the TNBTS / Taman Nasional Bromo Tengger Semeru advises tourists not to approach the crater during the ritual; And the BVMBG recalled the status of the volcano at Waspada / Alert and prohibited approach within a radius of 2.5 km.
Enforcing these norms by the local will be difficult, given the ritual and religious context for some, and the lure of gain for others ... remains to be hoped that the Gunung Bromo will stand still !
