On 2 August, Sinabung experienced one of its longest eruptive phase since 2014. The volcano erupted several times and produced 17 pyroclastic flows between 8 am and midnight.
The PVMBG reports a plume at 4,200 meters, accompanied by a shake of 553 seconds; Pyroclastic flows are reported in the evening, traveling 4,000 meters in SE-E direction at 22:09, and again at 22:14.

Two Ecuadorian volcanoes, the Sangay and the Reventador, showed activity yesterday.

At the end of the night on July 1, the Sangay expelled incandescent materials on its upper slopes, and experienced an explosion on August 2 during the day.

The Reventador experienced explosions with a moderate ash plume.
The Reventador has since June 23 a change of its seismic and explosive activity, according to the IGEPN. A new emission of lava, and pyroclastic flows not associated with explosions are noticed. On July 1, the lava flow, originating from the crater, reached a length of 2,000 meters, and was 60 meters wide in its lower part, 300 meters in its lower part.
