On 2 August, Sinabung experienced one of its longest eruptive phase since 2014. The volcano erupted several times and produced 17 pyroclastic flows between 8 am and midnight.

The Reventador experienced explosions with a moderate ash plume.
The Reventador has since June 23 a change of its seismic and explosive activity, according to the IGEPN. A new emission of lava, and pyroclastic flows not associated with explosions are noticed. On July 1, the lava flow, originating from the crater, reached a length of 2,000 meters, and was 60 meters wide in its lower part, 300 meters in its lower part.
