The BNPB tmake a review of activity and evacuations: between 06h and 12h local on 23 September, 71 deep volcanic earthquakes, 25 shallow volcanic earthquakes and 8 local tectonic earthquakes have been observed. On 23 September at 6 pm local time, 17,551 people had been displaced.
Tourists are still present near the temples of Besakih, located in the danger zone; and forest exploitation is still ongoing.
