The Zairean press reported a statement from the OVGoma that Nyiragongo and Niamuragira volcanoes experienced intense activity in their respective craters on 17 and 18 October. This activity has been trending down until Friday morning.

In Nyiragongo, the activity remains confined in the crater, without fumaroles or other traces on the flanks.
Two photos published on Instagram shows that the activity of the cone stuck to the wall of the crater has resumed, with a flow to the pit crater and the lava lake; this activity is confirmed by Charles Balagizi / OVG.
