The activity of Sabancaya remains continuous, with last week, a slight increase and an average of 67 daily explosions, associated with plumes reaching 2,500 meters above the crater, and a dispersion of ashes over 50 km mainly in south-east and northeast direction.
Seismicity is dominated by LP earthquakes, associated with fluid motions, and emission tremors. A vertical deformation, between 4 and 8 mm, is observed northeast of the crater; the flow of sulfur dioxide peaks on December 15 at 3,143 tons / day.
Over the week, 4 thermal anomalies were spotted by Mirova; they have values of 2 to 11 MW.

At Sinabung, an eruption on December 27 at 12:24 WIB generated a plume of ash rising to 2,800 m above the summit, accompanied by tremor for 480 sec.

Update : New eruption this 27 December 2017 at 15:36 WIB, accompanied by pyroclastic flows running 3500 m southeast and 4600 m southeast. The wind was blowing to the southeast.
In Chile, gas explosions continue at Nevados de Chillan. Sernageomin indicates a greater recurrence of nocturnal glow since December 20th.
The technical alert level remains in Amarilla.
