The JMA has raised the alert level of Ebino, located north of the Kirishimayama group on Kyushu Island, to 2 / ban from approaching the crater, for fear of a small eruption, following changes in its seismicity.

Since February 15, low frequency and superficial earthquakes have been observed; volcanic earthquakes are increasing, with 17 episodes on 19.02 and 18 episodes on 20.02.

And when possible, it will be with restrictions.

The management of a visitor population of up to 4,000 at the weekend is no longer possible in case of incidents ... following which, the controls will be strengthened and access standards hardened:

- access at the Park will be limited to 45 minutes, of which 20 minutes max. for the observation of the crater.

- Entries will be subject to prior reservation and groups will not exceed 100 people.

- Schedules will also be reduced: from 7h to 14h.

Personnel problems are added: only 5 of the 12 Park guards are in the area.

For the day of February 20th, the seismicity and the degassing remain low, and no eruption is detected.
