The eruptive activity has been going on for two days at the Shinmoedake / Kirishima group, on alert level 3.
The JMA provides a plume with a high water vapor content, rising about 300 meters above the crater.

On Kadovar, the Rabaul volcano Observatory informs us of a continuous lava flow from the south-east costal vent, and the formation of a connection with an emerging lava island.
Between February 14 and 22, steam plumes are emitted by both the main crater and the costal vent, interspersed on February 16 and 20-22 by dense ash emissions.
Incandescence was noted on February 22, and a smell of sulfur reported by residents of Blup Blup, 15 km north on February 16 and 22.

On Ambae / Vanuatu, the VAAC Wellington informs an ash plume on February 24 rising to 4,000 meters before drifting to the northwest.
At the Reventador, emissions of steam and gas, moderately charged with ashes are reported this February 28 at 10:49, rising to 2,000 meters above the crater dissipating to the southwest.
On the seismic level, the IGEPN informs, on March 1st, 40 LP earthquakes, 52 earthquakes of explosion, 20 episodes of emission tremor, and 3 of harmonic tremor.
The alert level and activity remain unchanged.
