Semisopochnoi - 10.09.2018 / 12h - ash deposits on the northern cone of Cerberus - Doc. AVO / Chris Waythomas / Sentinel2
Instability continues in Semisopochnoi, in alert Yellow / Advisory since 16 September 2018.
A retrospective analysis of the September 10 satellite data reveals small ash deposits on the north cone flank of Mount Cerberus, in association with two recorded seismic tremor blasts on September 8th.
This analysis, combined with an increase in tremor amplitude pushed the AVO to raise alert levels at Orange / Watch this 17.09.
To be continued ...
The eruptive activity, which has been rising since September 12, continues in Sarychev, in the central Kuril Islands. Explosions, visible from Matua Island, were accompanied by an ash plume at more than 4,500 meters on September 17 at 22:10 UTC.
The Himawari-8 satellite spotted a 6 km by 8 km ash cloud drifting east for 21 km.

Piton de La Fournaise - situation of the cone and the lava flow on 17.09.2018 at 12:32 local / 08h32utc - Doc. OVPF
The fourth eruption of the year at Piton de La Fournaise quickly concentrated in the central part of the fissure, where the activity of the three vents built a chased cone, 20 meters high and 60 meters wide.
The first lava flows, fed by an important debit, have progressed rapidly and reached 2km of long ... the flow has since decreased between 2.5 and 5 m³ / s. (Hotvolc), and the flow goes to the south-east while approaching the rampart of l'Enclos. The casting front is always in the upper part of the Enclosure.
The thermal anomalies recorded by Mirova went from a maximum of 2,393 MW on 16.09.2018 / 6:40 to 1,303 MW on 17.09.2018 / 21h
