On the island of Bali, despite the ash eruptions at Agung on March 17 at 8am and 10.30am, which were accompanied by ash plumes 500-600 meters above the summit, the ceremonies of Panca Wali Krama, which held every ten years, continued at Besakih Temple.

The temple is located outside the danger zone of 4 km radius, which should not affect the course of the ritual intended to rebalance the natural environment of the island.

Agung's alert level remains at Level III, the second highest of the four levels, and as such, Agung's climb is still not allowed.

In addition, the PVMBG urged riverside communities upstream of the volcano to remain vigilant about the potential secondary threat of mudslides and lahars.

On March 18th, the seismic network recorded a blast earthquake and a superficial volcanic earthquake.
