From 14:46:10 H UTC this July 3, 2019, a paroxysm concerns the center-south zone of the crater terrace of Stromboli.
In particular, two main explosive events were distinguished at 14:46:10 H and 14:46:40 H UTC, respectively. The sequence was preceded at 14:44 h UTC by lava overflows of all the active mouths of the crater terrace towards the Sciara del Fuoco.

The monitoring networks recorded at 17:16 hours (15:16 UTC), a stronger intensity explosion.
Field Ingv personnel observed an eruptive column that rose for at least 2 km above the south-west dispersal top zone. The paroxysmal products, including bombs and lapilli, fell back onto the flanks of the volcano, causing a series of fires in the vegetation.
