According to various sources "live", the tremor, synonymous with the arrival of lava near the surface (emission of hot and incandescent gas) is recorded since 14:40 local at  Piton de La Fournaise.

Observers point out, from the point of view on the casting in 2007, the low lava flow front, above the Piton Tremblet ... an altitude of about 600 meters, and less than 2,500 meters from the lava / RN2. The lava could reach the road in the evening.

In this context, the Prefect decided to implement the alert phase 2-2 "eruption in progress in the enclosure" of the specific device ORSEC volcano this Friday, October 25 at 15h. Public access to the Fouqué enclosure, from the Pas de Bellecombe trail or from any other path, as well as the placing of aircraft in the volcano area, are prohibited until further notice

Due to its rapid progression in the Great Slopes, a screening of the RN2 is underway by the Gendarmerie.
