Etna NEC / northeast crater - Strombolian activity produced by cinder cones on 31.10.2020 - Doc. INGV OE
The INGV informs us of the activity of Etna between October 26 and November 1:
Strombolian activity at the New Southeast Crater (NSEC) was variable in intensity with discontinuous ash emissions and the ejection of pieces of lava.
At the level of the northeast crater (NEC), activity persisted, of the superficial intracrateric Strombolian type, with the formation of small lava flows confined near the slag cones, the products of this activity remaining confined in the crater. .
At Bocca Nuova, small intracrateric collapses and the consequent emission of light ash indicate the beginning of the craterization of the eastern part.
The Voragine crater showed occasional explosive activity with material ejections above the crater rim.
The seismic activity of fracturing remains modest and the amplitude of the tremor at the average level.
The infrasound activity is moderate.
The other parameters are without major changes.

At 08:35:00 local time on November 3, 2020, a small hydrothermal eruption was recorded at the Rincon de la Vieja volcano, with a column that rises 800 meters above the height of the crater, or 2716 meters of altitude asl.
Duration of activity: 1 minute.
Seismic activity remains low, with low amplitude, low frequency background tremors and sporadic low amplitude (LP) volcanic earthquakes.
At the time of this report, the winds are blowing to the southeast.

The eruptive activity of the Sabancaya volcano remained at moderate levels between October 26 and November 1, with explosions, at the rate of 35 daily episodes, accompanied by plumes of ash and gas up to 3 km altitude. above the summit.
The IGP recorded and analyzed the 1993 earthquakes of volcanic origin, associated with the circulation of magmatic fluids within the Sabancaya volcano. During this period, Volcano-Tectonic (VT) -type earthquakes were located mainly in the northwest and east of the volcano and presented magnitudes between M1.6 and M2.7. The most representative earthquake (M2.7) was recorded on October 31 at 4:30 a.m., 12 km south-east of Sabancaya and at a depth of 8 km.
Monitoring the deformation of the volcanic structure, using GNSS techniques, does not present any significant anomalies. However, in general, a process of inflation was observed in the south-eastern sector of Sabancaya and the northern sector (Hualca Hualca volcano).
Nine thermal anomalies with values between 4 MW and 42 MW, associated with the presence of a lava body on the surface of the volcano's crater, were detected by satellite.
For the day of November 2, Ingemmet counts 43 explosions with ash plumes reaching up to 2,000 meters for that of 6:57.
The volcanic alert level remains orange, with a 12 km radius forbidden zone around the crater.

At Sinabung, day after day pursuit of activity.
Note the evening of November 2, an episode of collapse, followed by an eruption of ash, another crater.
On November 3, an earthquake related to a collapse coupled with a pyroclastic flow,
and on November 4, the seismicity, between 6 a.m. and 12 p.m. WIB, revealed an earthquake related to a pyroclastic flow, with an amplitude of 120 mm lasting 155 sec. In addition, there are 20 collapse / avalanche earthquakes; 6 blast / emission earthquakes; 2 low frequency earthquakes; 5 multiphase hybrid earthquakes.
