An eruption occurred at Ili Lewotolok on Sunday, November 29, 2020, at 9.45 a.m. WITA, accompanied by an ash plume observed ± 4000 m above the summit (± 5423 m above sea level) , wearing a pileus. The column of ash was gray and thick, to the east and west. This eruption was recorded on a seismograph with a maximum amplitude of 35 mm and a duration of 600 seconds.
VAAC Darwin reported ash at flight altitude 500 moving southeast, and at flight altitude 180, moving northwest. He issued an aviation code red at 0750Z.
The technical alert remains at level 2 / Waspada, with a danger radius of 2 km around the crater.
A second eruptive episode took place at 3:13 p.m. WITA, with the height of the ash column observed ± 2000 m above the peak (± 3423 m above sea level). We observe that the ash column is gray with a thick intensity towards the west. This eruption was recorded on a seismograph with a maximum amplitude of 20 mm and a duration of 500 seconds.

At Semeru, on Java, the lava flow is still active, and marked by significant degassing.
The PVMBG reports at the seismicity level for this November 28:
- 7 eruption earthquakes, with an amplitude of 15-17 mm, and the duration of the earthquake was 65-120 seconds.
- 41 collapse / avalanche earthquakes, with an amplitude of 2 to 12 mm and a duration of 45 to 140 seconds from the earthquake.
- 10 blast / emission earthquakes
- Two distant tectonic earthquakes.
The activity level is at 2 / Waspada. The community is recommended not to carry out activities within a radius of 1 km and in an area of up to 4 km in the sector of the south-southeast slope of the active crater, which is the area of the active opening of Mount Semeru (Jongring Seloko) crater as a pyroclastic flow channel.

At Klyuchevskoy, the explosive-effusive eruption continues.
An ash plume is observed at 5,500-6,000 meters asl., Lit by the incandescence at its base, extending to the east northeast of the volcano for 300 km.
The outpouring in Apakhonchich falls, on the south-eastern flank continues.
The thermal anomalies remain very high.
The aviation code remains orange.
