Telica volcano, in Nicaragua, in the eruptive phase since April 21, 2021 (GVP), presented on February 20, 2022 a few episodes of ash explosions, which were deposited on its flanks. These episodes were separated by an outgassing.

Mirova reports a moderate thermal anomaly of VRP 34 MW on April 21 at 03:20.

The Fuego Volcano Observatory - OVFGO - reports 5 to 8 weak and moderate explosions per hour, these explosions generate a column of ash from a height of 4,300 to 4,700 meters above sea level (14,108 to 15,420 feet) which disperses towards the West, the South-West and the South of the volcano.

Weak and moderate rumblings are reported, which cause vibrations in the roofs and windows of houses near the volcano. Weak, moderate and strong avalanches are observed around the crater and towards the barrancas Ceniza, Santa Teresa and Las Lajas, weak avalanches towards the Taniluyá ravine.
At night, a constant incandescence was observed in the crater.

Sounds similar to those of a train locomotive are constantly reported and, for periods, sounds similar to those of an airplane turbine are also heard.
Lava flow towards the Ceniza ravine with a length of 75 meters, avalanches are generated at the front of the flow that reach the edge of the vegetation, the wind causes the lifting of fine ash, so there is a probability of ashfall in communities southwest and west of the volcano. The recommendations of BEFGO bulletin n° 005-2022 remain in force.

We are still talking about the 2007 lava flow from Piton de La Fournaise ...

The sinking of the ship Tresta Star was caused by the passage of cyclone Batsirai near the coast of Reunion Island, about 200 km away at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 3. The vessel ran aground at the sea entry site of the 2007 Piton de La Fournaise lava flow.

This Saturday, February 19, 2022, the Tresta Star remains at Tremblet in Saint-Philippe and pollution control operations are suspended until the weather conditions improve.

Cyclone Emnati is approaching the island as two fuel slicks have been spotted around the Mauritian ship

The overflight of the Fazsoi (armed forces of the southern Indian Ocean zone) this Saturday, February 19, 2022 revealed that the slick extends over an area 50 m wide and 2.5 km long in the sector from the 2007 flow of the Piton de La Fournaise, to Tremblet beach.

This pollution always appears as a streak of brown water, symptomatic of an oily substance emulsified with seawater.

Following the degraded weather conditions in the area, the ship has been significantly damaged since the observations made yesterday. The breach located on the port side of the ship and exposed to the swell has widened considerably and parts of the hull have been torn off, revealing a gaping hole several meters through which the sea can rush inside the Tresta Star. We can now fear an imminent dislocation of the Tresta Star, with pieces of the ship which will detach to sink on the spot or come to ground on the coast. New discharges of oily water will continue in the next 3 days.
