In Kilauea, lava eruption from the western vent of Halema'uma'u into the active lava lake and crater floor has continued over the past 24 hours.
The active lava lake showed continued surface activity, with the lake level remaining relatively high, with some minor level fluctuations. Lava seep activity continues with nearly continuous seeps along the western and northwest edges of the lava lake. Flyby measurements on May 10, 2022 indicated that the crater floor had seen a total elevation of about 106 meters (348 feet) and that 77 million cubic meters (20 billion gallons) of lava had been effused since the start. of this eruption on September 29. , 2021.
Summit tiltmeters returned to long-term trends overnight. A sulfur dioxide (SO2) emission rate of approximately 2,300 tonnes per day (t/d) was measured on May 22, 2022.
Yasur volcanic activity continues in the high level of major unrest. The Volcanic Alert Level remains at Level 2.
Yasur volcano activity in the major unrest state continues with continuous strong explosions with volcanic ash and gas emissions and volcanic projectiles or bombs from its active vents. With ongoing volcanic gas and/or ash with volcanic projectiles around the crater, the danger zone remains at Danger Zone A which is approximately 600m around the volcanic cone.
The level of risk to visitors accessing areas from the parking area to the crater rim (Danger Zone A) remains high. With this current level of activity, villages and areas near the volcano can continue to expect impact from volcanic gases and/or ashfall, especially those exposed to the wind direction. With this current volcanic activity, it's a helpful reminder that eruptions can occur at any level of unrest with little or no warning.

Regarding volcanic monitoring, LGS states that it has suffered damage: the SCI station (500m above Punta Labronzo) is no longer functional and therefore the landslide monitoring system is not active as well as the Signals from the Punta dei Corvi camera were not available as they relied on the radio link from the SCI station.
Despite the damage suffered, all the volcanic alert systems (tsunami and paroxysm) are fully functional.
On the photo the situation on May 26 at 07:56 this morning from the AOC surveillance camera, everything is burnt….. the devastation is evident, we can clearly see the old terraces of the culture from before 1933, until yesterday covered with vegetation.
