Since early September, a moderate eruptive activity has continued in Ebeko, in the Kurils.
The explosions are accompanied by plumes of ash at more than 2,000 meters in height, according to volcanologists from Severo-Kurilsk, 7 km SEE of the volcano.
On September 27, the ash plume was noted at more than 3,500 meters asl, according to ground observers.
The aviation code remains orange, explosions accompanied by ash can occur at any time and affect flights and Severo-Kurilsk airport
The last period of activity of the Ebeko dates back to October 2016, and continues on that date (GVP)

The seismic crisis that began on September 28, 2020 at 12:04 p.m. local time at Piton de La Fournaise continues; even if a decrease in the number of earthquakes has been observed since the start of the day on 29/09 and is even more marked on 30 September.
Since the start of the crisis and up to 9:30 am today, 2,300 earthquakes and 442 shallow landslides / collapses have been recorded by the OVPF.
This seismicity is always located under the summit and under the eastern flank of the volcano (between 1.6 and 5.2 km deep.
During the day of 29/09, the deformations continued on the eastern flank of the volcano, so the GPS station "GPNG" of the OVPF located in the upper part of the Grandes Pentes, at an altitude of 1414 m, has slipped east by 50 cm, or 60 cm in total since the onset of the crisis, and has risen by about 20 cm since the onset of the crisis.

At the level of the summit fumaroles, the seismic crisis is accompanied by a gradual decrease in both CO2 and SO2, with fluids which again become mainly composed of water vapor, with very few other species. This tendency is compatible with a lateral magmatic transfer, far from the summit fumaroles, as illustrated by the seismicity and the deformations recorded since the start of the crisis.

The SGC communicates in its weekly Nevado del Ruiz activity bulletin that the volcano continues to present instability, and remains in level 3 / yellow.
Seismicity in relation to the dynamics of internal fluids has increased in number of events and in released seismic energy. It is characterized by a continuous tremor, or in pulses, of LP and VLP earthquakes, sometimes associated with gas and ash emissions.
The surface deformation does not show significant variations compared to the past weeks.
