The strombolian and effusive activity marked the new southeast cone of Etna during the day on 14.05 and the next night.
Loud explosions were audible until Catania, and projections amount to 100-150 meters above the edge of the NSEC. The wind turned and the high humidity makes the visibility poor. The ashes were scattered over more Misterbianco and Viagrande.
The lava flow, well fed, reached the Monte Simone, at the foot of the north wall of the Valle del Bove, and continues down the slope. Its length is estimated at over 4,000 meters, and reached the altitude 2,000.
