A lull in the eruption is observed during the 29th, with small amounts of lava issued and a decrease in seismicity. At the vent located further down the crack, large gas bubbles are bursting.

Lava flows are again faster, their advanced revolving around 20 meters per hour at Portela station. A plume rises to about 4,000 meters and large amounts of gas are released. Strong earthquakes are recorded outside the caldera at Cabeça Fundão, Estancia Roque and Achada Furna. The center of the Natural Park was completely destroyed.
